Synodal Process: Questionnaire Results
Thank you to everyone who completed the parish questionnaire as part of the listening phase of the Synodal Process. A total of 154 responses were received – 64 questionnaires were completed online and 90 paper copies were returned.
Questionnaire responses from the parish have now been summarised and passed on to the Diocese. Your responses have also been shared with the parish priests and parish council. Please find a summary of the questionnaire responses together with a selection of parishioners’ comments and suggestions below .
An exhaustive list of all the comments and suggestions made by parishioners is also available from the parish office on request. Parishioners have asked for this questionnaire summary to be further analysed so that responses can be viewed on the basis of age and gender. This analysis will be available on the parish website soon.
A children’s questionnaire, devised by the Diocese, has also been completed by pupils at St Mary’s R.C School. These results will be published at the end of March.

January 2022: Local Listening Phase of the Synodal Process – Adult Questionnaire Circulated – Results shared with Parish Priest & the PPC.
February 2022: Results shared at public meeting at Methodist Hub 3/2/22 – Requests for further breakdown of information noted – Children’s Questionnaire Distributed St Mary’s School.
March 2022: Adult results published on the parish website – Children’s results to be published on the parish website.
April 2022: Diocesan Synodal Meetings attended by parish delegates – Further details of the questionnaire results to be published on the parish website e.g. response by age – Submission of the diocesan synthesis to the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales.
May 2022: Delegates to report back to parish on Diocesan meetings.
June 2022 onwards: Parishioners updated via parish newsletter accompanied by further detail on the parish website until the Synodal Process concludes in October 2023.
